A Charity For Children
MTG United for Peace gives children the chance to meet and make friends through football.
On 11 September TV3 Slovenia organised its MTG United for Peace tournament for young people at the Ljubljana shopping mall BTC. Teams from five Slovenian regions showed off their footballing skills on the sandy pitch.
An “all star team”, comprising the best players and now known as Team Slovenia, was put together at the end of the tournament. This team travels to Oslo, the capital of Norway, to meet the winning teams from other countries where the project has taken place. The MTG United for Peace Cup is scheduled to be held in October.
The tournament also attracted many visitors: friends and family of the players, members of the general public and footballers from the first division Slovenian football club NK Domžale. Players including Jernej Smukavec, Darko Brljak and Jovan Vidović came along, as well as assistant head coach Dejan Dončič and head coach Darko Birjukov.
This sporting event was supported with great enthusiasm by TV3 Slovenia’s employees. All those who attended and took part expressed excitement at the prospect of holding the tournament again next year.
