A Charity For Children
MTG United for Peace gives children the chance to meet and make friends through football.
Jahn Ivar “Mini” Jakobsen, ex football pro from Rosenborg, from Norway:
Have you had fun here today?
It’s been great to meet all the players again from way back, and we do get into quite a bit of banter. I couldn’t help teasing Bobic, when I met him, and say “Hey, I saw you on TV yesterday, we beat you 3-0!” When he realised an old match had been shown on the television he just laughed. We’re still competitive in our hearts, no matter how old we’ll be!
What’s so great about football?
It's that you can travel anywhere; just show up in Kenya or anywhere where someone is playing and just say: ‘Hey, can I join in?’And you can! Football opens new doors; it makes it easy to make friends and the most important thing, it gives everyone so much joy. That’s the great thing about football, having fun!
