Terms and Conditions of participation in the MTG United for Peace Cup UK

 

1.    I acknowledge that playing football during the MTG United for Peace Cup UK 2011 (“Tournament”) involves certain risks. I accept and fully assume all such risks and the possibility of personal injury, death or loss of or damage to my property resulting from participating in the Tournament.

2.    In consideration of Viasat Broadcasting UK Ltd allowing me to participate in the Tournament, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I agree as follows:

a)    To waive any and all claims that I may have against Viasat Broadcasting UK Ltd, any member of the Modern Times Group MTG AB group of companies, and their directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives (“Organisers”) arising from participating in the Tournament;

b)    To release the Organisers from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury, including death, that I may suffer or that my next of kin may suffer as a result of my participation in the Tournament due to any cause whatsoever excluding negligence on the part of the Organisers, liability in connection with proven defective product(s) supplied to me by the Organisers at the Tournament and/or any breach by the Organisers of the duty of care owed under the Occupiers Liability Act 1984; and

c)    To hold harmless and indemnify the Organisers from any and all liability for any personal injury to any third party or for any property damage caused by me which results from participating in the Tournament.

3.    I agree to allow (at no cost) the Organisers to use my name, photograph, video, voice recording and general location for publicity, news and/or any future promotions or advertising.

4.    I agree not to do anything which might invalidate any insurance maintained by the Organisers in respect of the Tournament or which may increase the insurance premium payable for the Tournament.

5.    I agree to observe at all times all applicable laws, licences, regulations and/or instructions from the Organisers relating to the Tournament.

6.    I declare to the best of my knowledge that I know of no reason why I should not participate in the Tournament and that I am not presently suffering from (and have not suffered from) any disease or medical condition which may prevent me from participating in the Tournament or which may be aggravated by my participation in the Tournament.

7.    I understand that admission to the pitches on which the Tournament will take place and my participation in the Tournament is granted on the understanding that I understand the risks involved and accept such risks.

8.    I understand that I must immediately inform medical personnel at the Tournament of any pain, discomfort, fatigue or any other symptoms that I may suffer during and after my participation in the Tournament. I accept that I may be required to immediately cease or delay my participation in the Tournament if so requested.

9.    I agree not to wear any equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to himself or another player.

10.    I am not a FA Girls Centre of Excellence player and I have not played in any games for any national football team.

11.    I confirm that the person nominated as my team’s manager for the Tournament is at least 18 years of age and is an FA-registered children’s coach or manager, a school teacher or a parent/guardian of me or of another member of my proposed team. My team’s proposed manager is willing to act as the team’s manager throughout the Tournament and attend the Tournament at all times when the team is required to attend. I agree to release the Organisers from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury, including death, that I may suffer or that my next of kin may suffer as a result of any act or omission of my team’s proposed manager.

12.    I confirm that, should my team advance to the MTG United for Peace Cup Final 2011 to be held in Oslo, Norway, I shall obtain (or ensure that my team manager shall obtain) consent to my participation in such finals (which may take place on normal school days) from the Head teacher (or equivalent) of my school and that my participation in the MTG United for Peace Cup Final 2011 of the Tournament is subject to and conditional upon such consent being received in writing by the Organisers.

13.    I acknowledge that my participation in the Tournament shall be bound by the relevant rules and regulations of the Tournament, as amended by the Organisers from time to time and that any breach by me of the Tournament rules and regulations could lead to disqualification from the Tournament for me and/or my team.

14.    The Organisers reserves the right to change, alter or withdraw in whole or in part the competition at any time

15.    The Organisers accept no responsibility for any entries that are unable to be sent, lost, delayed, incorrectly completed, damaged or corrupted for any reason whatsoever.

16.    No cash or other alternative in part or full will be offered in lieu of the specified prizes. Prizes are not transferable
17.    The use or dealing in any drug form, theft and other criminal acts, vandalism or violence will be dealt with immediately by the police and taken out of our hands.

18.    These terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

19.    I am aware that by ticking the box confirming that I have read and understood and agree to be bound by these terms, that I am waiving certain legal rights which I (and my next of kin) may have against the Organisers.

20.    Without prejudice to the foregoing, my parent/guardian agrees to jointly and severally guarantee and indemnify the performance of my obligations set out above by agreeing that I tick the confirmation box on the application form. My parent/guardian also makes all relevant declarations and acknowledgements above in relation to me. My parent/guardian confirms that he/she has read and understood these terms, and is aware that by agreeing that I tick the confirmation box that he/she is waiving certain legal rights which he/she may have against the Organisers.
