MTG United for Peace

Conflicts are inevitable in life. Especially in our modern society where new cultures, languages religions and traditions meet us even where we least expect it. Some children are curious and positive to new experiences, but most want to protect what’s theirs and stick to what they know. It’s easier to criticise and blame than to embrace and welcome. It takes courage to say “What’s that you’re doing? Can you show me, please? Maybe that’s something for me too!”

We want to tackle racism and anti-tolerance head on. That’s why we launched MTG United for Peace in 2010, a registered charity organisation, set up by MTG in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center and the Norwegian Red Cross. The aim of the charity is to let children make new friends, experience that being open-minded can lead to great things and learn how to tolerate and respect others. It’s not easy, but we’ve found a perfect place to meet. A place where it doesn’t matter where you’re from or who you are: The football pitch! 

By playing football children with different ethnic belongings will experience a common ground. The pitch is a safe place to meet, for education and integration, to learn more about each other, about the importance of anti-racism and to embrace multiculturalism. On the pitch and at sessions in the classrooms the children will understand the importance of peace, tolerance, respect and cultural diversity.

MTG United for Peace is part of MTG’s vision to maximise the power of entertainment for the benefit of society and the communities in the countries in which we operate. We want to inspire the children to look at the world around them as a truly exciting, developing and fun place to be!

The MTG United for Peace Cup

MTG United for Peace arranges local football youth tournaments for 12-14 year old children, both boys and girls, in different countries,. The MTG United for Peace Cup in each country provides great entertainment for everyone.  The children get to play football and games and local celebrities also join in the fun in each country.

Our Peace Ambassadors

The MTG United for Peace, Peace Ambassadors are football stars who have chosen to throw their weight and support behind this cause. Through their contribution and help the children participating in MTG United for Peace get a chance to meet their idols and role models.
