Therefore MTG focuses heavily on its corporate responsibility, Modern Responsibility. MTG has a long history of working with and supporting both social and environmental charities. Through these experiences and the fact that Modern Responsibility focuses on children’s right to play and sport the decision was made to found a standalone charity dedicated to this cause, MTG United for Peace.
It is the objective of MTG United for Peace to bring together children from less fortunate and different cultural backgrounds through the game of football for two obvious reasons; children are our future and football is probably the world’s most popular and unifying sport.
Football brings people together. With over 208 associations affiliated to FIFA, football's global governing body has been rightly dubbed the "United Nations of Football" and is actively using the sport as a symbol for hope and integration.
One of the reasons why MTG has chosen football as its medium for enhancing the understanding of peace, respect, tolerance and cultural diversity is because as a game, football stands for these values. Football is no longer just a sport, but a unifying force whose virtues can make an important contribution. Team spirit, understanding, tolerance, fairness, adherence to rules and standards, social integration and education are but a few factors.
As an international business MTG brings people together on a daily basis and with MTG United for Peace the Group wants to bring children together and give something back to the next generation.
